Restyle Runway!

Restyle Runway!

Argh, I didn't even go to that many events for PFF and my posts are already all over the place. These are some photos from the Restyle on the Runway event, which took place last Thursday. I was actually surprised at how chilled out I was leading up to the event... I took more of a 'head in the sand' approach, which was that if I didn't think about it then I couldn't imagine all of the things that could possibly go wrong (I had been a little bit nervous about having one of these moments). I didn't even pick out my outfits until 11pm the night before the show!

Anyway, I wore the skirt from this post, the dress from this outfit and this outfit, and the dress I wore on my one year anniversary with Aidan. I wore Target heels with the first outfit and op-shopped heels with the second. Oh, and an op-shopped bracelet (you can see it better here) and some new earrings I bought the day before from Pigeonhole and only chucked on at the last minute because they were in my bag and thankfully went with both outfits!

I really loved my hair and makeup for this event - my hair felt kind of mermaid-ish?! The make up was pretty fantastic too; I loved the pink lips! I didn't take my camera with me because I thought I'd be rushing around too much to really use it (and I was right) so I have to say thanks to the bloggers for letting me use their photos! Click on their names for full coverage of the show, there's some really lovely photos there!

AHH my face in that bottom right photo cracks me up. I look so bummed to be there! I promise I'm not! I was probably just thinking 'Don't trip don't trip don't trip'...

And I couldn't leave without showing you the other Restyle ladies strutting their stuff!

My beautiful friend Lisa! ♥
 {Nova FM}

L from Peanut Moonbeam Knickers (and her amazing new hair!)

Bonnie (how stunning is she?!) and the very stylish Kim

The lovely girls from Le Fanciulle (Steph on the left, Trish on the right!)

Gorgeous Shell and her AMAZING jumpsuit! I love how she styled it as well!

Beautiful Ally from The Vintage Valley - doesn't she always look like such a 1950s movie star? She's amazing!

Heidy ROCKED it down the runway! She was such a pro, I was blown away! And I loved this fringed kimono on Sharon from Sass and Spice

And the best part of the runway show was the two guide dogs strutting their stuff down the runway! In a PFF first, the show featured two visually impaired models who both looked like total babes in their op-shopped outfits. I couldn't get past the fact that the dogs were accessorised as well! So cute! These guys brought the house down and they were the real stars of the show. I was really proud to be involved.

Look at the pup on the bottom right with his fancy scarf! JUST LOOK AT HIM. So adorable.

Anyway, I guess this really will be my last Restyle post for a while! Thanks again to Renee, Perth Fashion Festival, Lotterywest, the op-shops involved and to all the people backstage at the show who were so lovely and encouraging! It was such a fun show to be involved with and I still can't quite believe I've walked down a runway! Now excuse me, I must continue my life as a ~model~

Restyle On The Runway

Restyle On The Runway

Hello again! Just when you thought we were all finished with Restyle, well, not quite . This Thursday, all of the bloggers involved in Restyle will be strutting their stuff on the runway and showing off two of our favourite op-shopped items from the challenge. Eeeeep! It's on at 11am at Forrest Place and it's free to the public, so if you happen to be in the city and want a bit of thrifty inspiration, come on down and have a look! I will be trying my best not to fall flat on my face (I'm pretty sure I broke my toe over the weekend so my foot's all strapped up. What excellent timing I have, as always...). Now to figure out which outfits will make it onto the runway! Any suggestions?

Restyle Recap

Restyle Recap

{check out all the individual Restyle posts here!}

So 30 Days of Restyle is over for the month and I thought I'd share a little recap of all my outfits. I was actually pretty proud with what I came up with, although there are some outfits I definitely won't be repeating (flannel shirt and satin skirt? What?!). It definitely pushed my comfort zone, which was a great if unexpected side effect!

If I were to do another challenge like this, I would definitely spend more time hemming and adjusting some of the clothes. I think it's really important with op-shop clothes to not look like you're dressing in a costume; I tried to mix the clothes with my everyday wardrobe so they wouldn't look too dated (though I still think some of the skirts are a smidge too long...).

But most importantly it was great to support these great charities and be able to give something back. I hope this has inspired you guys to look in some more op-shops when you need a bit of a shopping fix! Thanks so much for all your amazing comments and support with this project, and thanks to PFF and Lotterywest for being such lovely hosts!

Restyle: The End

Restyle: The End

And after thirty outfit posts, here is my last outfit for Restyle! I'm not going to lie, I'm really sad that this challenge is over. Thank you all so much for your lovely comments, tweets and emails about Restyle - I hope it's inspired you to do a little op-shopping of your own! And of course a huge thanks to Renee, Perth Fashion Festival, Lotterywest, my fellow Restyle bloggers, and all of the wonderful people at Good Sammys, the Salvos, Drug Arm WA, Save the Children, and Vinnies!

Well, before this turns into a Gwyneth Paltrow at the Oscars speech, I'll just shut up and tell you about the outfit. The dress is one that I gave you a sneaky peek of in this outfit post, and the jacket... oh the jacket. I was saving it for a special post, and what's more special than the last day of Restyle (and my last day of being 22)?

It's an amazing Liz Davenport jacket that was a little on the expensive side, but LOOK AT IT. It's like a unicorn and a mermaid got together and had a baby and the baby manifested as this jacket. It's a swirly pastel jacquard piece of awesome.

Liz Davenport jacket, $30, Good Sammys // Dress, $30, Red Cross // Shoes, $4, Good Sammys (previously opshopped) // Bag, $8, Save the Children // Bracelet, $5, Good Sammys

Unlike the bag I posted about yesterday, this bag is actual glomesh! I was so surprised when it was only eight bucks. I've seen the price go as high as $50 (at Good Sammys, for this beautiful rose-gold version) to $100 (at the antique shop I posted about, for an original purse still in the box). The strap has broken on this since I bought it, but I don't mind it as a clutch! Albeit a very large clutch that's still too thin to fit anything in.

Well, I am off to make some tacos and try not to peek into the room where Aidan's hiding my present. So tempting...

Goodnight!
