"If you type Google into Google, you can break the internet".

"If you type Google into Google, you can break the internet".

The ever-fantastic Vixel from Sparkle and Glitter tagged me for this quiz! I hope you don't mind a rather text-heavy post!
These are the rules:
1. respond and rework: answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.2. tag five other un-tagged people.

What is your current obsession?
Tea, my Wii Fit, new shoes, winter clothes, The IT Crowd, and Mad Men.

What are you wearing now?
My green floral op-shop dress, a long snuggly cardigan, and black tights.

Do you nap a lot?
I don't really nap, but I do get to sleep in quite late a few days a week (the upside of being an arts student and unemployed!).

Why is today special?
It's the birthday of two people I love very much - my dad and one of my best friends!

What would you like to learn to do?
Burlesque dancing, speak fluent French, be able to design and make clothes, and be an excellent chef.

What’s for dinner?
Something from Outback Jack's, where I'm going for my friend's birthday.
What was the last thing you bought?
Birthday presents!

What are you listening to right now?
The sound of my Media Studies work not being done.

What is your favorite weather?
Rainy! I love winter weather.

What is on your bedside table?
A very 60's-inspired lamp, some magazines (Cleo and Shop Til You Drop), my glasses, about three glasses half-full of water, and some change.

What’s your style?
Constantly evolving.

What is your most challenging goal right now?
Trying to get a job! Damn you financial crisis!

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where do you want it to be?
I would love to live in Paris. Or perhaps London. Or, since the house is fully furnished and paid for, maybe I would just get it here so I would still be near everyone I love! No, I think Paris.

Name the things you cannot live without.
My friends and family, my boyfriend, my laptop, enough money to buy a magazine and a coffee, and a good pair of shoes!

What would you like to have in your hands right now?
A ticket to Russell Brand tomorrow night! I was DEVASTATED when I couldn't go!

What would you like to get rid of?
The sinking, "Ihavewaytoomuchtogetdone" feeling...

What was the last book you read?
Life, Law and Not Enough Shoes, which is an autobiography of a female lawyer in Perth. It's more interesting than I made it sound :P I would recommend it!

What languages can you speak?
English, a teeny weeny bit of French.

What language(s) do you want to be able to speak?
Fluent French and Japanese.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I always wanted to be a journalist, but for some reason lately I have been thinking of doing a teaching degree? But I haven't made up my mind yet.

What's one thing you're looking forward to?
Moving in a few weeks! :D

I tag theses always lovely bloggers: Shannon, Amanda, Monster Girl Writes, and Emily.

x

What I Wore 19.02.09

What I Wore 19.02.09

Ahoy there! I decided to do the nautical thing today, while it is still nice and summery outside.

♥ Shirt - Mooloola

♥ Skirt - Supre

♥ Shoes - Harlan (from Planet Video)

♥ Silver, white and cream bangles - Diva 3 for $15 sale

♥ Pearl bracelet - Present from Boy's parents

♥ Sailor hat - from Splendour in the Grass hat stall

I have been tagged for two lovely awards. The first is from AUSStyle and is the Lemonade Award, for sites that show attitude or gratitude. I love it! Thank you!

In return, I tag these lovely ladies, whose blogs I read religiously and are some of my favourites:

Be A Tiger

Half Accidental

Sparkle and Glitter

Stompface

True Love and High Adventure

A Cat of Impossible Colour

Another Girl, Another Blog

Girl With the Big Brown Eyes

The Holly and the Ivy

and Miss Corrine!

Each of you should tag 10 people... if there's any bloggers left!

I also received this award from Amanda, which requires me to tell 10 facts about myself! Here goes... Sorry if some of them are repeated, there have been a few fact-telling memes I have done!

1. I am really, really messy. Seriously. You would not want to live with me.

2. I really hate Sour Cream & Chives flavoured chips. They make me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

3. I prefer tea over coffee. I don't really like the taste of coffee, but drink it anyway!

4. I love winter, especially rain.

5. I take belly-dancing lessons!

6. I can play the piano and guitar. (But don't).

7. Most of my money goes on concert tickets. So far this year I've been to Southbound and Jeff Beck, with Coldplay, Of Montreal, Tim Minchin and Dylan Moran in the next couple of months! I'm so excited!

8. I've recently learnt how to cook and I love it! Although I do have to get over feeling a bit housewifey every time I make my boyfriend a meal :P

9. I don't drive.

10. I read really fast. To the point where I can finish a whole book in a couple of hours. It is kind of useful but annoying if I want to make a book last longer than, say, a day.

Aaand again with the tagging, I tag A Beautiful Dream, Monster Girl Writes, Skylark and Son and Lick My Cupcakes!

Phew! OK, now I am off to get ready for belly-dancing!

Sunday posts make me happy!

Sunday posts make me happy!

I was tagged by the incredibly cute Monster Girl to write a list of six things that make me happy. So, here they are!

♥ I love buying a stack of new magazines and sitting on my balcony, reading them and drinking a cup of tea (white, with one sugar). This also applies to reading new books - I just finished When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris and I loved it! I very highly recommend it.

♥ Rain. This might be against the whole Australian image that everyone loves sun and summer (which I do) but I also love being all cozy and drinking a nice hot drink inside while rain is pouring down outside. It's especially nice at Boy's house because he lives in the hills in Perth, so there is a lot of bushland around outside.

♥ I love watching a stupid teen movies while eating pizza and painting my nails. I think this happiness is borne from reading about "slumber parties" in one too many Babysitter's Club books! While there will always be a place in my heart for A Clockwork Orange, American Beauty and the like, there's nothing like switching your brain off for a couple of hours and just revelling in the vapidness.

♥ Wandering around the city by myself makes me happy - I only moved to Perth last year and while it's not THE most exciting place to live, I still like discovering great little places. One of my favourites is Empire Toys, which is where I get all my little anime figurines! This one is my favourite (and was actually a present from my sister):

♥ At the moment, the lead-up to Christmas makes me happy. It's my favourite holiday, I get so sucked in by all the Christmas displays and continous blaring of carols and all the Christmas movies on TV. And I love buying presents for people, so this allows me to do it in bulk!

♥ I don't really like eating just toast and cereal for breakfast, but give me a full cooked breakfast and I am all over that thing. I love staying in hotels just for the buffet breakfast! Yum. Now I am hungry for bacon and hashbrowns.
